I’m back after having a hysterectomy & ready for some more CANVAS DANCING ~ Collaborative Art!

Canvas Dance is a workshop I lead with all ages. Some samples above. I have several different versions on the theme of collaborative art. My favorite is sort of like “round Robin” which is where people write something as they pass it around. Sort of the same, as each person starts with their own canvas, paints for a timed period, then passes it the the next person for a timed period. I like this one because everyone goes home with a painting with all the group energy, different from the giant painting, that only one person gets!

Now that I’m on the mend from surgery, I’m ready to book some more Canvas Dance parties & Events. Please contact me here if you are interested!

My greatest passion is collaborating & painting with other people…

artists, non-artists, adults, children, strangers! You name it!

Whenever possible I lead “CANVAS DANCE ~ Paintings For Peace” ™

for fundraisers, benefits, schools and parties,

(some are paid gigs & many I volunteer).

I just LOVE it!

I love it with friends and family TOO!

It is a fabulous way to come together and connect and be close.

I liked the paintings we did…he owns most of them…I wish I did!

It is my wish that more people, family and friends would make ART together!

Canvas Dance ™ has arrived to Northampton, MA via The ART ANGEL

Canvas Dance ™ is a workshop that I created in 1998 & have lead in Asheville, NC, DC area and Lenox, MA.

I’m very excited to have just landed in Northampton, Ma…my new home…I Absolutely LOVE IT here!

Amongst the chaos of boxes, I have still managed to PAINT &

hold 7 Canvas Dance ™ experiences in 2 weeks!

I am NOT at my own computer, so I will post pics later.

I’m in love with this workshop!

HISTORY of “CANVAS DANCE”:

My ex & I created “Canvas Dance – Paintings for Peace” ™,  back in 1998.

We would sit together passing our journals back in forth to each other, adding to each others drawings & words. It was great fun…one day I said “Ya know, we should take this public on large canvases…with music playing”…”Painting parties…collaboration canvases – community canvases”!

That’s exactly what we did & we called it

“CANVAS DANCE” ™…everyone LOVES it! All ages…artists and non-artists!

I offer many variations on the theme,

I actually have a “menu”, eg. painting in silence, painting to rock & roll,

5 minute intervals, 2 minute intervals, women only, men only…etc.

Usually I like to keep the group 3 to 10 max. The group either work on one very large canvas or pass around individual smaller canvases (sort of like musical chairs-only no one gets left out). I like the individual one best because everyone takes home a painting and the paintings are truly wonderful!

But most importantly Canvas Dance ™ is about people being together…having an experience together…sharing ideas & energy! The finished piece is just a bonus!

It’s not about creating a perfect work of art…it’s about letting yourself dance! Play! Freedom! Trusting! Sharing! Connecting with other people, sometimes you are connecting & creating with complete strangers…

and it is great fun to do with close friends & family too.

It’s deep! Besides the creativity…there is the Personal Growth! You get to see change right before your very eyes! You get to observe your “attachments” &  “judgements”! You learn to “LET GO” & trust the process.

During the process, someone or everyone is invited to write down personal thoughts or things people say during the process…and this sometimes is the best part! It makes some beautiful, strange poetry that is shared at the end of the workshop as everyone shows the collaboration canvases.

It is very exciting!

I will be hosting several CANVAS DANCE events locally in Northampton starting in a couple of weeks.
